| The //Talon// type ship of the game Star Trek Armada is the Romulan's [[scout|scout ship]]. It is build by the [[romulan_shipyard|Shipyard]]. It can be enhanced with a [[tachyon_detection_grid|Tachyon Detection Grid]] to detect cloaked ships. As such it is fast, has a large scanning radius but on the other hand it has only a small crew, very limited weapons and rather low shields. These ships are not meant for battle but reconnaissance. The Romulan variation is special as it has his own cloaking device, making it invisible for ordinary units and ships. | | Some players miss a cloakable scanning station for the Romulan faction. This unit is actually meant to make up for it. While not having the same scanning range as a [[en:games:star_trek_armada_1:sensor_stations|sensor station]] it is comparable (700 (normal stations) vs. 800 (scouts) vs. 1000 (sensor stations)) and at the same time can cloak. So using it as a stationary scanning station is a good compromise. |
