So well that the game even let's you invite players, that use a different version than you own without question or warning. This is not reported in any way. You cannot recognize this situation before the game goes and starts the actual match. When starting such a mismatched match-up, the game for the host simply starts, while the players with the wrong version are shown a black screen but are not kicked from the server.
